Cassia Music

Welcome to my website, I hope it does for you wonderful things.

I began playing classical guitar as a result of my teachers tricking me into taking classical guitar lessons. My brother, Jean Paul, had been the star of the music department as far as classical guitarists went and it seems the teachers in my school thought I would be the next Segovia as naturally, guitar playing was lurking within the depths of my veins. As fate would have it though, they weren't far off.

I was born right as things were getting interesting in Beirut; 1981. Bombs were going off left right and center and it seems Papa and Mama thought it a good idea to get the fandangle out of there! France being a logical stop over from Lebanon due to its historical links to Lebanon, we ended up in the lush and leafy suburb of Paris, St. Cloud, a delightful and lovely little town where nothing ever happens. At the age of 12, I was shipped off to boarding school in England as my mother, being English herself, felt I was becoming too French! As the mid 90's fell upon us, and the Lebanese Civil war began to settle down, it was time to go back to Caramel skies of the Levant where I Finished up high school in Beirut, bringing about the inevitable questions that come at the culmination of one's first episode of scholastic education - what now? Given my innate and insatiable thirst for music, I flew out to the Americas on the 1st of January 2002, landing in Boston to enter Berklee College of Music.

Berklee is where, through a romance with a Turkish woman who studied film scoring, I found myself transfixed with the idea of merging all the musical influences I had harvested throughout my geographical pinball of an existence, with the sensitivities and intricately psychological world of film.

Once my life in Boston had run its course, the next logical step over was New York, with its intense energy and charisma.

So now, here I am, living and working from my studio in Brooklyn. I currently am working with multiple film makers, directors, artists and music placement companies. I live with my cat. Her name is Mulette because its funny in French and in English.
